Day 70 — Campus Layout, Landscape, and Sidewalk Assets
Context
With the campus layout finalized, I moved on to creating the landscape and designing sidewalk assets. This was my first time building assets specifically for seamless snapping in UEFN, which made the process much more efficient and satisfying. The focus was on low-poly, background-blending assets that support both function and aesthetics.

Landscape Creation
I sculpted the campus landscape to fit the new layout, ensuring that terrain features supported both navigation and visual flow. The process benefited from the earlier grayboxing, as major layout issues had already been resolved.
Sidewalk Asset Design
Using my 3D Model Maker app, I created a set of sidewalk assets designed to snap together easily in UEFN. Laying them out on the campus was a seamless experience, and the results blend well into the environment while supporting future expansion.
Summary
What I accomplished:
- Finalized campus layout and sculpted landscape
- Designed and implemented snapping sidewalk assets
- Improved workflow for asset placement in UEFN
What I learned:
- Early planning streamlines asset creation
- Snapping assets save time and reduce errors
- Low-poly assets can be both functional and attractive
